The Brando is named for its previous owner, the Academy Award-winning actor Marlon Brando, who was essentially the first bad boy of Hollywood and had 16 children by different women. The private island resort, where Brando penned his memoirs, is located 30 minutes from Tahiti and has been transformed into an upscale, environmentally friendly resort, primarily at the actor’s request. Brando first paid a cool $200,000 for the haven with the intention of preserving the ring of 12 abandoned mouse (islets’) natural attractiveness. The Brando is home to 35 opulent villas set on beautiful unspoiled beaches. Starting prices are $18,000.
